Are you doing research in the broad area of global mental health? Do you wish to develop new research in this area? Are you interested in fostering inter-disciplinary links? The GMH Research Network at The University of Edinburgh is hosting a research networking event to share University-wide expertise and foster interdisciplinary collaborations. As an academic network, we are keen to encourage wide participation including colleagues exploring how their current work might interface with the field of global mental health, clinicians/practitioners and those with lived experiences of mental health problems. We welcome colleagues working on mental health locally with culturally diverse populations.
The event will feature keynotes by Dr. Julian Eaton, Co-Director of the Center for Global Mental Health at LSHTM and Senior Mental Health Advisor for CBM International and Dr Kaaren Mathias, Mental Health Advisor, Emmanuel Hospital Association. The event will use a ‘lightening talks’ format (i.e. 3 to 5 minutes per talk) that will enable wide participation and presentations grouped in chaired-panels to generate interdisciplinary conversations and research questions.
