Short Biography

I am a qualified nurse from Nepal with extensive working experience in Nepal and in the UK. I obtained my MSc in Health Promotion from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1997, and PhD from the School of Health in Social Science, University of Edinburgh in 2011.

My main research interests are: Globalisation in healthcare and the global movement of healthcare professionals; the impact of nurse migration on source and destination countries’ health care systems; the ethical and regulatory issues around health worker migration; migrant nurses’ experience of living and working in the UK; and female migration from Nepal.
