Summer Writing Retreat 2019

The SoMA summer writing retreat is an opportunity to get out of town, the library, your room and fill some pages in the company of people, hills and (hopefully) the sun. We have booked accommodation in the Pentlands for the weekend of the 12th-14th of July. Accommodation, travel and food are all covered by SoMA. Dogs are welcome. Beds are limited, so if you would like to get a space, please send an email to s1522215@sms.ed.ac.uk.

We're just got back from our summer writing retreat, which involved a two-night stay in a beautiful house in the Pentlands, less than an hour away from Edinburgh. The seven students who attended worked on a variety of projects, including master's dissertations, PhD board papers, abstracts, applications, and more. Productive writing time was punctuated by walks and runs around the nearby hills, kayaking trips around the wee loch next to the house, and lots of time playing with Frank the dog (research assistant extraordinaire).

Many thanks to Tara for organising such a great event! Let's hope this is the start of an annual tradition.
