Janet Carsten delivers 2012 Morgan Lecture

Prof Janet Carsten has been invited to deliver the 2012 Morgan Lecture at the University of Rochester in the USA

The Lewis Henry Morgan Lectures were founded in 1963 in honour of the pioneering anthropologist whose name they bear. They are now one of the most famous series in world anthropology: past lecturers have included Meyer Fortes and Edmund Leach, Gregory Bateson and Marilyn Strathern, and in recent years, James Ferguson and Veena Das. Among the many celebrated books to come from the lectures are Jonathan Parry's Death in Banaras, Maurice Bloch's Prey into Hunter, and Gananath Obeyesekere's Work of Culture.
